This is a meaningful activity within the framework of the program "Love Steps Up" of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, implemented by VinaCapital Foundation since November 2021. Thereby, it aims to support and provide health care and free education for more than 2,300 post-Covid-19 orphans, children in difficult circumstances affected by the epidemic in the city.
This medical examination will take place on May 20 and 21 at the City Children's Hospital. The children will receive a general examination; ear, nose and throat examination, maxillofacial examination, eye examination, musculoskeletal examination and psychological health assessment. In case of disease detection, the children will be re-examined and treated at the City Children's Hospital with treatment and travel costs supported by the "Love Steps Up" program. The organizers also presented meaningful gifts and supported meals for the children who came to the program.
Mr. Rad Kivette, General Director of VinaCapital Foundation emphasized: VinaCapital Foundation, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and other units are making efforts to ensure that all orphans and disadvantaged children receive full psychosocial care, quality health care services and comprehensive educational support until adulthood. The program "Love Steps Up" continues to be implemented through scientific assessment of each child, thereby establishing short-term, medium-term and long-term solutions to ensure the health and success of children in the future.
According to Ms. Dinh Phuong Thao, Deputy Secretary of Binh Chanh District Youth Union, the locality has a large area and population with the proportion of immigrants accounting for more than 50% of the population. The children of the district are mostly children of young workers and immigrants. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the district has 202 children orphaned by the pandemic. Activities on post-Covid-19 health examination and consultation, and mental health care for children are among the contents that the Youth Union and Pioneer organizations at all levels always focus on implementing.
It is known that since 2022, the program "Love Steps Up" has organized 3 free medical examinations and treatments for more than 3,000 children, including children orphaned by Covid-19 as well as children from difficult family circumstances. The examination results showed that many children are experiencing serious health problems such as psychological, eye, dental, malnutrition... These children have been supported by the program with 100% of long-term treatment costs to ensure their physical and mental health.
On this occasion, VinaCapital Foundation coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Union, Scenic Group and other partners to inaugurate and hand over 5 water filtration systems to schools lacking in facilities. The total value of the water filtration systems is over 350 million VND.
Specifically, reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration systems combined with ultraviolet rays were donated to 5 schools, including: Nguyen Van Tran Primary School (Binh Chanh District), Duong Van Lich Primary School (Nha Be District), Nguyen Hue Secondary School (District 4), Bui Van Moi Primary School and Truong Thanh Primary School (all in Thu Duc City). These water filtration systems contribute to providing clean water for more than 5,500 students and hundreds of staff, teachers and employees of the schools.
