Participating in an online job introduction website, a woman was scammed of nearly 500 million VND.

Ms. Pham Thi D reported to the police.

It is known that at noon on June 12, 2023, Ms. Pham Thi D, residing in Truong Xuan commune, Tho Xuan district, used the social network Facebook to join an online job introduction page. After that, a Facebook account named "Nguyen Thi Kieu Van" texted Ms. D via the Messenger application to introduce the job. Ms. D followed the instructions and was sent purchase links. When Ms. D ordered a few products with small value, Van returned the principal and interest. When Ms. D ordered a product worth nearly 36 million VND, Van informed her that due to syntax errors, the money could not be refunded and had to be redone.

Accordingly, Ms. D transferred a total of 4 transactions to Van, with a total amount of nearly 500 million VND. After many unsuccessful purchases, Van used the phone number 0335.954.575 to call Ms. D for further instructions. Van also gave Ms. D the number of Van's company's switchboard, 1900996644. Ms. D asked to meet Van's boss, so Van gave Ms. D the phone number to make friends on Zalo, 0522053701, Zalo account name: "Pham Minh Duc". Ms. D talked to Duc but still did not receive the money back. Knowing that she had been scammed, Ms. D went to Tho Xuan District Police to report the incident. The case is currently under investigation.

Regarding the above incident, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police advised: People absolutely do not believe in online job referrals that promise high profits when introduced. When a strange phone number, Facebook, Zalo calls or texts to get acquainted and introduce a job, there is a possibility of being scammed. When there are signs of being scammed, report to the nearest Police Department for guidance on how to handle the situation.
