Lunar New Year: Vietnam Trade Union supports 2,400 plane and train tickets to workers

According to Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will support vehicles and planes to transport union members and workers back to their hometowns and workplaces.

Vietnam Trade Union visits and gives gifts to union members and workers affected by storms and floods in many northern provinces.

This is the travel support content in the plan to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, recently issued by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL).

Accordingly, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will support 400 one-way air tickets and 2,000 two-way train tickets for workers. Priority will be given to workers whose families are in difficult circumstances or who are in areas that have just been hit by natural disasters and floods. The program is especially aimed at union members and workers working in the southern regions who want to return to their hometowns in the northern provinces.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also requested provincial and municipal labor federations, central and equivalent industry unions, general corporation unions under the General Confederation, trade unions directly above the grassroots level, and grassroots trade unions, based on the actual situation and financial resources of the locality and unit, to organize activities to support all or part of the transportation costs for union members and workers to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to their workplaces in a safe, convenient, and thoughtful manner.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will also organize activities to celebrate Spring and Tet, visit and encourage union members and workers who are unable to return home for Tet.

Provincial and municipal labor federations, central and equivalent industry unions, general corporation unions under the General Confederation, direct superior grassroots unions, and grassroots unions shall, based on the situation of union members and workers staying in the locality or unit, organize warm and joyful activities bearing the Union's mark. In cases where many union members and workers do not return to their hometowns for Tet, organize the program "Tet not far from home" or other appropriate forms of activities.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also called on businesses and localities to cooperate to ensure that workers receive full wages and bonuses for Tet and organize spring activities to help workers feel cared for during the big holiday.
