On June 24th, Mr. Chinh, from Da Lay commune, along with the Da Teh district forest protection unit, handed over a pangolin to the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center of Cat Tien National Park ( Dong Nai province) for release back into the wild.
Last night, a pangolin entered Mr. Chinh's garden, causing his dog to bark incessantly. Shining a flashlight to investigate, he saw the animal moving, so he called on everyone in the house to catch and confine it, and then called the authorities.
The Javan pangolin, scientifically known as Manis javanica , is a rare and endangered wild animal, therefore it is listed as an endangered species and hunting, trading, and consuming it is strictly prohibited.
