The year 2024 marks important steps forward in the people's diplomacy of Tay Ninh province, contributing to strengthening friendly neighborly relations with the border provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Implementing Directive No. 12-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the leadership of the Party and improving the effectiveness of people's diplomacy in the new situation, the province has achieved many outstanding results, contributing positively to the stability and development of the border area.
According to the Propaganda Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the system of Mass Mobilization, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the province organized 20,957 propaganda sessions, attracting more than 587,000 participants. The propaganda contents focused on the Party's policies and guidelines and the State's laws on people's diplomacy. These activities have raised people's awareness, aroused a sense of responsibility in protecting national sovereignty and building a peaceful and friendly border.
Tay Ninh pays special attention to promoting cooperation with peer organizations in provinces bordering Cambodia through many practical activities. In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tay Ninh province has organized regular meetings with the authorities and the Fronts of Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Tboung Khmum provinces, implementing the signing of emulation agreements to build a peaceful and cooperative border. The provincial Veterans Association coordinated to collect 300 martyrs' remains and organize a preliminary review of cooperation agreements with neighboring provinces. The Provincial Youth Union carried out many exchange programs with Cambodian youth, such as commemorating the 45th anniversary of the victory over the genocide regime, with the participation of more than 150 union members of the two countries. The Provincial Women's Union maintained cooperative activities with Cambodian women through a cooperation agreement for the period 2022-2027, organizing exchanges, sharing experiences and supporting the lives of people on the border.

The Tay Ninh Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations maintains information exchange with the Association of Khmer people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia, the Association of Overseas Vietnamese Relatives of the province on the situation of Vietnamese people abroad, Khmer people of Vietnamese origin currently living in provinces bordering Tay Ninh. Organize a conference to deploy people's foreign affairs work and sign the Regulations on coordination of people's foreign affairs activities in 2024 between members of Cluster No. 4, in Tay Ninh (including the provinces of Ben Tre, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang).
Last year, Tay Ninh implemented support programs with a total budget of more than 83 billion VND, including medical examinations, medicine distribution, and support for students and people in difficult circumstances. The model of "Vietnam - Cambodia Working Group" in Ninh Dien commune, Chau Thanh district helped improve people's lives with an average income of 3-3.7 million VND/month. These efforts not only improved border life but also strengthened solidarity between the people of the two countries.
Despite many positive results, Tay Ninh's people-to-people diplomacy still faces some limitations, such as untimely consultation and unsynchronized activities in some localities. To overcome these shortcomings, the province has set out four key tasks, including:
Promote propaganda and raise awareness of people's diplomacy.
Strengthening consultation and close coordination, with the core being the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tay Ninh province and the Union of Friendship Organizations of Tay Ninh province. Continuing to strongly innovate the content and methods of people-to-people diplomacy activities according to the motto "proactive, flexible, creative, effective".
Mobilize the participation of organizations and people of all walks of life in the struggle against the exploitation of democracy, human rights, ethnicity, religion, and "peaceful evolution" issues by hostile forces, to protect the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the country. Promote activities to build neighborly relations of solidarity, friendship, peace, cooperation, and mutual development between Tay Ninh province and neighboring provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Do a good job of mobilizing resources, focusing on mobilizing businesses and philanthropists, improving the effectiveness of cooperation with international organizations and non-governmental organizations, seeking the help of domestic and foreign organizations and individuals in accordance with the provisions of law.
These orientations not only affirm Tay Ninh's role in people-to-people diplomacy but also contribute to building a neighborly relationship of solidarity, peace and sustainable development with the Kingdom of Cambodia.
