At the scene, 2 axles of car number 8 of train SE7 derailed. The train accident caused the North-South railway line through Ha Tinh to be blocked.

The North-South railway is expected to open this evening.

In early November 2024, in Da Nang City, there was also a train accident that caused 3 carriages to derail.

Accordingly, at 9:10 p.m. on November 1, train ASY2 pulled 20 wagons with a load capacity of 840.7 tons entering track 1 of Hai Van Nam station (Da Nang city). At km 771+800, the axles of some wagons flew off the rail, causing containers on 2 wagons to overturn onto track 2, while a container on another wagon fell 45 degrees to the left in the direction of the train.

By the afternoon of November 2, authorities had fixed the problem and the North-South railway was back in operation.
