Indian Navy ship pays courtesy visit to Da Nang

On May 19, two Indian Navy ships docked at Tien Sa Port, beginning a courtesy visit to Da Nang city.

Two warships of the Indian Navy, including the guided missile destroyer INS Delhi, designed and built entirely domestically; INS Satpura, a multi-purpose stealth destroyer. Both ships are capable of carrying multi-role helicopters; many types of modern weapons and equipment.

During the 4-day period, the delegation will pay courtesy visits to the leaders of the Da Nang People's Committee, visit and pay courtesy visits to the Naval Region 3 Command, and play volleyball with officers and sailors of the Naval Region 3 Command. As part of the visit, officers and sailors on two Indian Navy ships and the Naval Region 3 Command will have a joint training session at sea. The farewell ceremony for the Indian Navy ship will take place on May 22.

At the welcoming ceremony, Rear Admiral Gurcharan Singh, Commander of the Eastern Fleet, Commander of the ship expressed his joy at the welcome of our country's delegation at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang City. Rear Admiral Gurcharan Singh expressed his thanks to the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the Vietnam People's Navy for the warm welcome given to the Indian Navy ships.

Although our countries are thousands of miles apart, the oceans connect us in our common goal of peace and prosperity, Rear Admiral Gurcharan Singh shared.

The visit of Indian naval ships demonstrates the increasingly substantive and effective cooperation between the two Navies; positively contributes to the defense relations between the two countries; and promotes the increasingly positive development of the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
