On the morning of February 6 (27th day of Tet), early morning at Binh Dong wharf flower market (District 8) by Tin Tuc newspaper reporter, many people came here to choose and buy Tet flowers. This year's flower market has about 660 flower, ornamental plant, and fruit businesses arranged along Tau Hu canal with reasonable prices, serving the Tet shopping needs of Ho Chi Minh City people.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, Vice Chairman of District 8 People's Committee, said that this is the 4th year the "On the wharf, under the boat" spring flower market has been organized at the city level, creating a place for gardeners from the southwestern provinces to bring flowers to Ho Chi Minh City for sale. The "On the wharf, under the boat" spring flower market is an opportunity to connect and promote economic value, bringing typical products of the southern river region to a new level, affirming the brand value of the cultural specialties of the South. This year, the highlight of the flower market is the red ceramic art street of Vinh Long, inspired by the idea of ​​​​the five elements of feng shui with 5 symbolic colors interwoven with miniature landscapes. In addition, there is also a model of a traditional 3-room, 2-wing house made of Vinh Long red ceramic, which was set as a Vietnam Record in 2023.

In 2012, District 8 implemented a series of spring flower festival activities of the district and from 2021, it was included in the series of typical annual cultural, artistic and festival events of Ho Chi Minh City.
