On June 30, the Provincial Military Command (CHQS) coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police) to organize a training course on civil defense, disaster response and search and rescue for comrades who are boat drivers of agencies and units of the Provincial Military Command. Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huu Tung, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command attended and directed the training.

During the training session, trainees learned the following contents: Operation of fire pumps, chainsaws, blowers; techniques to rescue people suffering from suffocation, drowning, and heatstroke; operation of primer guns and practice controlling speedboats to perform rescue missions in flooded areas.

Through the training course, the aim is to train the team of officers and staff who are part-time drivers of ships and high-speed boats of the Military Commands of districts, cities, towns and units to improve their skills in controlling inland waterway vehicles, grasping the situation and handling procedures for incidents and natural disasters; applying the knowledge learned to the process of performing tasks in line with the practical situation of the locality; effectively responding to and handling well the situations of incidents, natural disasters and catastrophes when they occur in the area.
