On May 27, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group said that on the afternoon of May 26, upon receiving the request of Project Management Board 85 (investor), experts and engineers of Deo Ca Group had Go to the site to inspect and agree on solutions with the design consultant and investor.
After that, Deo Ca Group mobilized 10 pieces of equipment (including 1 drill, 2 sprayers) and 40 personnel to the construction site to fix the problem on the night of May 26. Deo Ca Group arranged a main construction team in the South - North direction, organizing shifts to work 24/24, without rest.
Deo Ca Group brought machinery to the scene to fix the landslide in Chi Thanh tunnel.
" Determine the work Supporting the recovery of the Chi Thanh railway tunnel landslide is an urgent and top priority task. We have mobilized machinery, equipment and experienced personnel currently working on the Chi Thanh - Van Phong and Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway projects to assist. The goal is to open the tunnel to restore traffic on the North-South railway section passing through Phu Yen province by 12 noon on May 30," said Mr. Dong.
Chi Thanh railway tunnel is one of 11 railway tunnels in the project to solidify railway tunnels nationwide, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Transport (total cost of implementation is 7,000 billion VND). Currently, the project has renovated and solidified 9 tunnels, while 2 tunnels are being repaired: Chi Thanh railway tunnel in Phu Yen province and Bai Gio railway tunnel in Khanh Hoa province.
According to Project 85 Management Board, the reinforcement of Deo Ca Group will help to overcome the landslide of Chi Thanh tunnel faster and more urgently in the complex geological conditions, with continuous landslides in Chi Thanh tunnel in the past few days. Currently, the forces are urgently handling the incident to clear the tunnel in the shortest time.
Previously, on May 21, during the renovation and repair of the railway tunnel, a mass of earth and rock suddenly collapsed, blocking the tunnel. North-South railway traffic from La Hai station to Chi Thanh and vice versa was completely paralyzed.
Currently, workers of Deo Ca Group are trying to fix the landslide, striving to clear the tunnel before 12:00 on June 30.
Modern machinery of Deo Ca Group was mobilized on the night of May 26.
The cause of the landslide was determined to be geological, weathered rock and soil combined with a thin roof layer (about 25m) leading to the landslide.
After the incident, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Danh Huy inspected the scene and directed urgent repairs, which were expected to be completed by May 26 so that the tunnel could be cleared. However, on the morning of May 26, while the construction unit was clearing about 80 cubic meters of landslide soil in the tunnel, a large amount of soil and rock continued to slide down.
Faced with this situation, Project Management Board 85 (investor) requested Deo Ca Group - a unit with a lot of experience in constructing and handling road tunnel projects with complex geological conditions, to come and support in overcoming the landslide incident at Chi Thanh railway tunnel.
For support at the railway tunnel, Deo Ca will proactively provide machinery and materials, the investor will only support materials available at the construction site.
