Working with the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le highly appreciated the efforts of the Ambassador and members of the Embassy in connecting to strengthen the relationship between Finland and Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City.
On the evening of September 13 (local time), within the framework of the visit and work in Finland, the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (HCMC) led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the HCMC People's Council, visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland.
Receiving the delegation, Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh said that currently the Vietnamese community in Finland has more than 10,000 people, including 2,500 international students. The Party cell of the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland has 23 party members. Notably, Narpio City has about 10,000 people, of which 2,000 are Vietnamese (accounting for 20% of the city's population).
Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh emphasized that the Narpio City government in particular and Finland in general highly appreciate the contributions of Vietnamese people to the economic development of the city as well as the positive attitude of Vietnamese people in complying with the laws of the host country.
However, at present, the policy for international students and immigrant workers in Finland is quite difficult. Therefore, the Vietnamese Embassy has been making efforts to propose more preferential policies for Vietnamese international students and immigrant workers.
Talking with Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le shared the difficulties of the Ambassador and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland. She believed that the members of the Embassy would overcome the difficulties and connect strongly to contribute to establishing increasingly close diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Le said that in recent times, Ho Chi Minh City has organized a number of delegation exchange programs with Finland, with the aim of continuing to affirm its efforts and goodwill in strengthening and deepening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Finland and Vietnam in general, and Ho Chi Minh City in particular. In particular, focusing on learning about Finland's development experience, especially in areas of interest to Ho Chi Minh City such as human resource training; at the same time, promoting local-level cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Tampere City. She hopes that the Embassy will continue to coordinate and support the promotion of specific cooperation programs in this field.
Appreciating the practical contributions of the Ambassador and the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council hopes that they will continue to be effective and active bridges, creating an environment to closely connect the Vietnamese community in Finland with the homeland and the country, and will continue to call for resources for the cause of building and developing Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City.
