Receiving a certificate of merit from the Chairman of Dong Ha City People's Committee for his achievements during the peak emulation period, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoai, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Quarter 4, Ward 5, was very excited. To celebrate this event, the people of Quarter 4 organized many practical activities to beautify and improve the appearance of residential areas and roads in the area. The City Construction Investment Project Management Board held the inauguration ceremony and put into use the construction of 8 new classrooms and auxiliary items of Vo Thi Sau Primary School worth over 6.2 billion VND; started the construction of the Multi-purpose House of the City Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center worth over 5.5 billion VND. The City Center for Industrial Cluster Development - Industrial Promotion and Public Services completed the construction of 3 mini flower gardens in Ward 3, Ward 5 and Dong Luong Ward with a total construction cost of over 7.5 billion VND.
Ward 2 People's Committee organized a program to promote and develop the culinary value of Ward 2 in 2024, taking place from August 9-10, 2024 with 40 food stalls attracting nearly 5,000 visitors to experience delicious dishes. Ward 5, Dong Thanh Ward, Dong Giang Ward, Dong Luong enthusiastically organized a men's soccer tournament... The city's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs mobilized resources to invest in building 10 gratitude houses with a total cost of 764.5 million VND to give to policy families and meritorious people.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city built and repaired 18 solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households with a total cost of 917.5 million VND and supported the livelihoods of 25 poor and near-poor households with a total amount of 275.2 million VND. The City Women's Union supported the construction of a new "Shelter of Love" worth 60 million VND; called on businesses and associations to register to become "Godmothers" for 92 orphans with a total cost of more than 220 million VND...

Speaking at the event, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that Dong Ha being recognized as a type II urban area will bring opportunities, attract investment interest, and create conditions to continue promoting its role, position, and strengths as the economic center of Quang Tri province.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung congratulated and commended the great achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Ha city that have contributed to the overall development of the province. At the same time, he emphasized that Dong Ha becoming a class II urban area is not only a title but also a great responsibility ahead, which means that it is necessary to continue to promote investment for stronger and more sustainable development in all fields...
Recognizing the outstanding achievements of collectives and individuals in implementing activities to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Dong Ha city (2009 - 2024) and announcing the Prime Minister's Decision to recognize Dong Ha as a type II urban area, the Chairman of Dong Ha City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 23 collectives and 17 individuals.
“The emulation campaign has created an atmosphere of pride, joy and excitement among local officials and people as well as a strong driving force to push Dong Ha to not only complete the development goals of 2024 but also in the following years,” affirmed Chairman of Dong Ha City People's Committee Ho Sy Trung.
