Thach That is an ancient land with a rich historical and cultural tradition, located at the western gateway of Hanoi Capital. In the district, there are currently 209 relics, of which Tay Phuong Pagoda is ranked as a special national level, 34 relics are ranked as national level, 66 relics are ranked as provincial and city level and the system of Tay Son statues at Tay Phuong Pagoda (34 statues) is recognized as a national treasure. Implementing Program No. 06-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the Hanoi Party Committee, Thach That district has guided communes with tourist areas and spots to propagate and mobilize people to voluntarily and actively participate in preserving the environment, ensuring landscape, security and order, cleaning village roads and alleys, practicing civilized lifestyles, and behaving friendly towards tourists; thereby actively participating in building safe, friendly and quality tourist destinations.

Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thach That district, Pham Quang Thai, said that to promote the tourist destination of Tay Phuong Pagoda Festival, the locality organized many unique cultural, artistic and traditional sports activities and over 100 exhibition booths, displaying traditional craft village products, OCOP products of enterprises and production households in the district, the capital and from other provinces and cities, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to visit and shop.
In 2024, the number of visitors to the district will increase, estimated at 247,000, an increase of 80,000; of which, the number of visitors to Tay Phuong Pagoda alone will reach over 98,000.
In Me Linh district, the model of “Historical and cultural relics - safe and attractive destinations” is one of the bright spots in implementing the Code of Conduct in public places in the district. Thereby, building common standards to guide the behavior, attitudes, habits, and civilized conduct of organizations and individuals when participating in activities at relics, contributing to preserving and developing the fine traditions of the thousand-year-old capital.
The representative of the Hai Ba Trung Temple Relic Management Board said that the Management Board has stepped up propaganda and mobilized people and tourists to come to worship and visit the relics to comply with regulations on costumes, rituals, offerings, donations, etc. and integrated propaganda content on the Code of Conduct during festivals, integrated into the explanations at the relics. The Management Board maintains the opening hours of the temple to welcome visitors all days of the year, opening the temple from 6am to 5pm every day; on holidays and Tet, the opening hours will be earlier.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the total number of tourists to Hanoi in 2024 will reach 27.86 million, an increase of 12.7% compared to 2023, including 6.35 million international visitors (including 4.47 million international visitors staying overnight), an increase of 34.4% compared to 2023 and 21.51 million domestic visitors, an increase of 7.5% compared to 2023. Total revenue from tourists will reach about 110.52 trillion VND, an increase of 18.3% compared to 2023.

Thanks to that, the attraction of the relic is increasingly high.
“The total number of visitors coming to visit, worship, study and experience the relic in 2024 is estimated to reach more than 460,000 visitors. The total revenue from donations in 2024 will reach 5.5 billion VND” - Head of the Hai Ba Trung Temple Relic Management Board Pham Tran Quang said.
Hanoi - Vietnam's top cultural destination
With the rich culture of Son Tay - Xu Doai and a diverse system of historical and cultural relics, recently, the model "Historical and cultural relics - Safe and attractive destinations" has been deployed at the ancient village tourist site of Duong Lam and the Long Ho hamlet tourist site, Kim Son commune, aiming to combine relic conservation with sustainable tourism development, building a safe and attractive tourism environment.
To implement the model, the Management Board of Duong Lam Ancient Village Relics and the People's Committee of Kim Son Commune have closely coordinated with local departments, offices, and organizations to effectively implement the Code of Conduct in public places at relic sites, helping visitors comply with regulations on dress, hygiene, and behavior when visiting and performing rituals at relic sites.
According to statistics, in the first 11 months of 2024, Duong Lam ancient village tourist site welcomed more than 135,000 visitors. "This model not only helps maintain order at relic sites, but also raises awareness of protecting cultural heritage, creating a safe tourism environment for visitors to Duong Lam ancient village and Long Ho village tourist site, Kim Son commune" - Head of the Department of Culture - Information of Son Tay town Nguyen Hai Anh shared.
According to the leader of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the capital city of Hanoi is a land rich in cultural identity, leading the country in the number of relics in the area with 5,922 relics inventoried. Of which, there is 1 world heritage site, 20 relic clusters ranked as special national relics, 1,163 relics ranked as national relics, and 1,500 relics ranked as city relics.
These are considered invaluable heritages for future generations, and are also important resources for developing Hanoi tourism. Recognizing the significance and importance of this, the Hanoi Party Committee has issued Program 06/CTr-TU on Cultural Development, Improving the Quality of Human Resources, Building Elegant and Civilized Hanoians, in which, implementing the Code of Conduct in Public Places, Building a Civilized Lifestyle at Monuments and Places of Worship are important contents towards the origin, aiming to preserve and promote the values of the Thang Long and Hanoi heritage, contributing to building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu, there are currently about 133 tourist attractions in Hanoi. Implementing the 2017 Tourism Law, up to now, the City People's Committee has recognized 50 tourist attractions and city-level tourist areas, including 42 tourist attractions and 8 city-level tourist areas. The good management and exploitation of destinations, tourist areas and spots have contributed positively to the strong growth of the tourism industry.
The capital's tourism industry continues to affirm its position, image and brand in the region as well as in the world. The special national relic of Hat Mon Temple, Hat Mon Commune, Phuc Tho District, has been recognized as a city-level tourist destination in Decision No. 4613/QD-UBND dated September 4, 2024 of the Hanoi People's Committee. The district People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Information to coordinate with the district Women's Union to organize the dissemination of the Code of Conduct in public places for 120 officials and members at the Hat Mon Temple guesthouse and launch the model "Model scenic area/historical relic in Hat Mon Commune".
As a result, all cadres and caretakers of the relic have always behaved politely, courteously and appropriately; a suggestion box and hotline number have been installed at the Hat Mon Temple National Special Relic Tourist Site, and so far, no negative feedback or comments have been received from visitors. Every year, thousands of visitors come to visit and worship at the relic. In the first 10 months of 2024 alone, there were more than 60 groups of visitors and over 6,000 visitors coming to visit and learn at the relic.
