According to the Daily Mail (UK), Harry Maguire felt "shocked and angry" when coach Ten Hag said he would strip the English midfielder of the captain's armband during Man Utd's training session yesterday (July 16).
Just hours later, Harry Maguire spoke out on social media about the Dutch strategist's decision as the reason he will leave Old Trafford this summer.
Harry Maguire shared: "After discussing with the manager today, he informed me that he will change the captain.
He explained his reasons and I was extremely disappointed, but I will continue to give my best every time I wear this shirt.
So I would like to say a huge thank you to the Man Utd fans for all their fantastic support during my time as captain.
Since taking up this role three and a half years ago, leading the Manchester United team has been a huge privilege and one of the proudest moments of my career to date.
It is one of the greatest honours for anyone at this club. I have done everything I can to help Man Utd succeed on and off the pitch.
I will always be grateful to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for being the first person to give me this responsibility and I wish whoever takes it the best of luck. They will have my full support."
According to Daily Mail , coach Ten Hag will likely hand over the captain's armband to Bruno Fernandes or Casemiro.
Meanwhile, Harry Maguire could leave Old Trafford as West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea all want the services of the 30-year-old centre-back.

MU increases budget to buy new players
According to Manchester Evening News , MU has two midfielders in their sights to add to the midfield, Sofyan Amrabat and Romeo Lavia.
Of the two players, Fiorentina's Amrabat is considered the more viable option, with sources noting that coach Erik ten Hag briefly worked with the Moroccan international.
With Southampton's Lavia being linked with a move by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are also keen on the 19-year-old's signature.
The Belgian midfielder is considered to have great potential, but Amrabat has the advantage of experience and has shone on the big stage of the 2022 World Cup.
