In order to serve the travel needs of the people, ensure traffic order and safety at the end of the year, Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival season of At Ty in 2025, the Ministry of Transport directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to closely coordinate with the Department of Transport and functional forces to organize traffic flow and reduce congestion on roads around the airport area, especially at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai International Airports.

It is necessary to arrange convenient parking locations for bus routes operating at the airport so that passengers can easily recognize and use the service, especially at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The Ministry of Transport directs airlines to develop plans to increase flights during peak days, arrange night flights to meet passenger travel needs based on infrastructure and ensure flight safety; operate flight schedules to minimize flight delays and cancellations, especially during the peak period of the Lunar New Year 2025.

The representative of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam added that in order to meet and serve the travel needs of the people, and not let passengers return home for Tet late due to lack of means, the Authority has recommended that localities with airports increase the frequency and operating time of buses, especially at night according to the night operating hours of airports.

In addition, the Department has also requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct the Departments of Transport to request other transport service providers in the area such as taxis and technology cars to increase operating hours and increase the number of vehicles to the airport to serve customers in need, especially passengers on night flights to/from the airport.

At the same time, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam directed inspection agencies, units, and local police to coordinate to detect and strictly handle organizations and individuals involved in the situation of "illegal buses and stations", the situation of luring passengers, forcing prices, and illegally increasing ticket prices.

Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam adjusted the number of takeoffs and landings at Tan Son Nhat airport to 48 flights/hour during the day and 46 flights/hour at night.

It is expected that the number of flights will increase sharply during the peak Tet holiday, from December 15 onwards, with 800 flights/day, the number of passengers will be around 130,000 people/day. This is a high parameter, on average there will be a flight every minute.

Therefore, to best serve the increasing number of passengers during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam recommends that passengers be proactive in their personal documents, flight-related information, and schedules to avoid delays and missed flights. At the same time, family members should also limit the number of people coming to pick up and drop off at the airport during the peak period of the Lunar New Year.

Strengthen inspection and handling of illegal vehicles and bus stations

The Ministry of Transport also requested the Vietnam Road Administration to proactively organize inspections of road transport work during the end of the year, Lunar New Year and the 2025 At Ty Spring Festival season in some localities.

In particular, it is necessary to guide and urge the Department of Transport to direct transport business units and bus stations to implement openly, transparently and in accordance with regulations on transport fares, prices and service fees at bus stations. Passenger transport business units need to have appropriate transport organization plans, carry the correct permitted load, the prescribed number of people, and ensure the capacity and quality of transport services.

Transport businesses need to increase propaganda to drivers about traffic safety laws, wearing seat belts when being transported on vehicles, not driving after drinking alcohol, and instructing on rules and skills for safe traffic participation on highways and steep mountain passes on mass media.

In addition, the Vietnam Road Administration was also requested to direct the inspection force to coordinate with the Department of Transport of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and some localities where there are many illegal buses, illegal stations and overloaded vehicles operating to strengthen inspection and handle violations according to regulations.
