VHO - Speaking at the Conference to summarize the activities of the second term (2014-2019), deploy the Action Program of the third term (2024-2029) of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru, Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, Chairman of the Fund Management Board emphasized the Fund's operational orientation in the coming time: Striving to diversify activities, strengthen capital development, and gradually support the protection and promotion of cultural heritage values.
The conference to summarize the activities of the second term (2014-2019), deploy the Action Program of the third term (2024-2029) and announce personnel decisions of the Fund for the third term was held on the morning of December 10 in Hanoi.
Attending the conference were Prof. Dr. Luu Tran Tieu, Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council, former Chairman of the Fund Management Board; Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Nong Quoc Thanh; General Director of Tik Tok Vietnam Nguyen Lam Thanh.

Acknowledging the achievements of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund in recent times, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru said that in 2013, the Fund was established to support, encourage and contribute to raising awareness and responsibility of the community in protecting and promoting the value of national cultural heritage.
The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund is a member organization of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association. From 2013 to present, the Fund has gone through 2 terms, gradually overcoming difficulties to record remarkable results.
In particular, in the second term (2019-2024), the Fund has achieved new developments, implemented many dynamic and creative activities, increased revenue, developed capital sources, and especially sponsored more than 10 billion VND for activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage.
Activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage that have been supported by the Fund include funding for the Management Board of the Cultural and Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Dong Mo, Hanoi), the Thai Hai Ethnic Ecological Stilt House Village Conservation Area (Thai Nguyen), the Cao Lo Dai Vuong Temple in Bac Ninh, the Hoang Cong Chat Temple in Dien Bien District (Dien Bien Province), and the Martyrs' Temple at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield (Dien Bien Province).
Organize many seminars, discussions, displays, and exhibitions on cultural heritage; actively participate in organizing two painting competitions "Vietnamese Cultural Heritage through Painting", the first in 2023 and the second in 2024-2025. Especially the mark of establishing and developing the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in provinces and cities of Vietnam and in some countries...
According to Associate Professor Dr. Do Van Tru, the initial results are valuable experiences and motivation for the Fund to continue to perform its functions and tasks better in the coming term.
Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru emphasized that the general goal, direction, and task of the Fund in the third term is to strengthen and consolidate the organization and personnel in a reasonable and effective manner to be strong enough to perform the assigned functions and tasks.
“Promoting development and increasing the Fund's capital through implementing or coordinating the implementation of programs, projects, and events, acting as a connecting point between investors and heritage owners in implementing cultural heritage projects, diversifying forms of activities to both preserve capital and have funding to support the activities of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and activities to preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage within the capacity and conditions allowed, ” said Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru.
Many opinions at the Conference mentioned resources and creative ideas deployed in connection with the protection and promotion of cultural heritage values. Representative of Tik Tok Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh shared about bringing heritage stories to the Tik Tok platform.
In 2018, when bringing the Tik Tok platform to Vietnam, the implementation team determined that it had to convey the breath of that country, the policies put forth had to be based on the community and culture of that country. The first program Tik Tok implemented in Vietnam was "Hello Vietnam " to promote Vietnamese tourism in 2019-2020.
After the success of the program, Tik Tok continued to launch the "HelloQuangNam" campaign , each participant transformed into a tourism ambassador, sharing authentic experiences, expressing pride in the culture, cuisine and people of Quang Nam.
“Currently, Tik Tok continues to exploit heritage stories, connecting with young people to convey traditional Vietnamese music and intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO such as Xoan singing; inviting groups to tell Vietnamese historical stories through exhibitions and museums that attract millions of viewers. When the Fund and Tik Tok have a plan to cooperate closely, bringing heritage to the young generation will have a great foundation for success...”, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh affirmed.
Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang, Permanent Vice President of the Fund, said that 20 years of operation of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association has created a very large and tight ecosystem. Among them is the establishment of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund. Up to now, this is the only non-public fund, with very strong "resources" such as the participation of culturalists, scientists, experts in museums, antiquities, historians, heritage, etc.
“Especially the love of heritage in every Vietnamese person and the huge treasure of cultural heritage left by our ancestors. All of these create a huge potential for the Fund to connect “resources”, promote its strengths to perform its functions and tasks...”, Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang affirmed.
On behalf of the Fund, Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang pledged to operate the Fund in accordance with the Party's policies and the State's laws; individuals in the Fund will not operate for political or economic purposes, affecting the image of those who create heritage.
“We always have the approach of building a legacy for future generations. Recently, the Fund has sponsored the Mekong Delta Agricultural Museum with the instructions of the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet...” , said Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang.
Prof. Dr. Luu Tran Tieu spoke as one of the founding members of the Fund and former Chairman of the Fund's Management Board, affirming that the results that the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund has achieved in the recent past are very meaningful and worthy of respect.
Prof. Dr. Luu Tran Tieu expressed his belief that the Fund Management Board, Board of Directors and members of the new term Fund will promote the achieved results to continue to have many practical and effective action programs, contributing to the cause of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage.
Within the framework of the Conference, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund launched a new website and inaugurated the Fund's headquarters.
On November 26, 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued Decision No. 863/QD-BNV on recognizing the members of the Management Board of the Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund for the third term (2024-2029) including 5 members: Mr. Do Van Tru, Chairman; Mr. To Van Dong, Vice Chairman; Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang, Vice Chairman; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, member; Mr. Nguyen Van Mac, member.
