On April 17, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a conference to review the coordination program for the period 2022-2026. The conference was chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Le Thi Thu Hang and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam.

The summary report of the Cooperation Program between the two units in 2022 - 2023 shows that in the past two years, the coordination contents have basically completed the proposed Plan. Many activities have contributed to uniting and gathering a wide range of Vietnamese youth and students abroad. Along with that, it is promoting and introducing Vietnam to friends around the world; strengthening cooperation and friendship between the Vietnamese people and people of other countries; attracting resources of Vietnamese youth and students abroad.

Notably, the activities include coordinating sponsorship and organizing the program "Bringing Tet home" for overseas Vietnamese in Japan; supporting the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in the US to organize the program "Embrace America"; sponsoring and supporting the Vietnam-Australia Innovation Network under the Vietnamese Student Association in Australia to organize a workshop on smart agriculture in person and online in Vietnam in 2023; organizing the contest to find Vietnamese ambassadors abroad in 2023...

The two sides also carried out coordinated activities to contribute to raising awareness and knowledge for union officials, union members, and youth about foreign affairs and international integration.

At the conference, representatives of overseas Youth Union and Association organizations shared many opinions and recommendations on creating job opportunities, opportunities for connection between the Vietnamese Student Association at home and abroad; as well as mechanisms to attract talents to contribute to the country... At the same time, it was proposed that the Central Youth Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organize online Vietnamese language teaching programs suitable for overseas Vietnamese youth, as well as promote activities to disseminate and propagate laws, including the law on residence abroad for young students who want to study abroad and work abroad.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang praised the achievements and contributions of Vietnamese students abroad in recent times, including contributions and support for the activities of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad. Ms. Hang said that the Central Youth Union has cooperated in implementing activities for young overseas intellectuals, including the transfer of knowledge and technology to serve the goal of rapid and sustainable development of the country.

Ms. Hang hopes that the Vietnamese Youth Union and Student Association abroad will continue to promote the tradition and strength of youth, do a good job of solidarity, gather the youth, students and Vietnamese people abroad to effectively contribute to the work of great national unity, protecting and building the country.

Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam said that the Youth Union always identifies international youth work as one of its very important tasks. This includes expanding, consolidating and promoting relations with youth organizations of other countries and international partners in youth work; youth work abroad; improving foreign language skills and international integration for young people...

Mr. Lam assessed that the plan to implement the coordination program between the Central Youth Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the coming period is decisive in action, with clear and specific contents. In the coming time, the Central Youth Union will continue to promote Vietnamese youth organizations abroad to strengthen connections, solidarity, gathering and support overseas Vietnamese youth and students. At the same time, the Central Youth Union commits to proactively implementing the contents and solutions established by the two sides.

Also at the Conference, the Central Youth Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed the Plan to implement the Work Coordination Program for the period 2024 - 2026.
