In Kaysone Phomvihane City, Savannakhet Province (Laos), the 2024 annual talks between Savannakhet Provincial Police and Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command have just taken place. Deputy Director of Savannakhet Provincial Security Department, Colonel Sang thoong Si pa sot; Deputy Commander of Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard, Colonel Tran Xuan Lan chaired the talks.

At the talks, the two sides highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the 2023 annual meeting minutes. Notably, they regularly exchanged information and reported on issues related to security and order on both sides of the border, the border gate area between Quang Tri province and Savannakhet province, focusing on preventing sabotage activities by hostile forces, exiled reactionary organizations, and subjects taking advantage of ethnic and religious issues to divide the solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

Proactively grasp the situation related to the two sides of the border, actively coordinate to prevent, combat, suppress and effectively suppress all types of crimes; closely coordinate to manage the border and border gates; regularly visit and congratulate each other on the occasion of holidays, New Year and traditional days of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to sign the 2024 annual meeting minutes, including the following contents: Continue to closely and in-depth coordinate in grasping, exchanging information, situations and effectively coordinating the fight against all types of crimes, especially drug crimes, smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, human trafficking, illegal entry and exit, illegal purchase and transportation of weapons, explosives, counterfeit money, illegal exploitation and transportation of mineral resources; activities of exiled reactionaries, reactionaries taking advantage of ethnicity and religion, terrorist crimes, transnational high-tech crimes and other types of crimes and violations of law related to the two sides of the border; coordinate to prevent free migration activities, unregistered marriages, etc.

Continue to closely coordinate in managing and controlling the entry and exit of people, vehicles and goods through border gates, creating favorable conditions for border residents to enter and exit the border area. Timely detect and handle in accordance with legal regulations violations of the Agreement on border regulations and land border gates between Vietnam and Laos signed in 2016.

Directing to strengthen control at border gates and key areas, promptly preventing, arresting and handling criminal activities and law violations. Actively coordinating and advising competent authorities to remove difficulties and obstacles regarding documents used for entry and exit of border residents on both sides.

Strengthening legal propaganda, mobilizing people on both sides of the border to understand and strictly comply with the Agreement on border regulations and land border gates between Vietnam and Laos. Closely cooperating in training and educating human resources to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
