Further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and the DPRK

On February 6, in Hanoi, the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Vietnam held a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (January 31, 1950 - January 31, 2025).

Attending the program were Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Ri Sung Guk, and representatives of ministries, branches, and Vietnamese friendship organizations.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Bui Thanh Son emphasized that over the past 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the traditional friendship between the two Parties and peoples, built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, has overcome many difficulties, challenges and ups and downs of history, and has been inherited and continuously strengthened through generations of leaders of the two countries.

Mr. Bui Thanh Son affirmed his readiness to work with the Party, Government and people of the DPRK to further develop the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the Vietnam-DPRK Friendship Year in 2025. Thereby, contributing practically to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

According to North Korean Ambassador Ri Sung Guk, the establishment of diplomatic relations between North Korea and Vietnam on January 31, 1950 became a historical milestone, marking the beginning of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the people of the two countries.

Expressing his delight at the positive development of bilateral relations over the past 75 years, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed that North Korea will continue to make efforts to work with Vietnam to further strengthen and develop the friendship and cooperation in many fields between the two countries in the coming time.

On this occasion, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk wished the Party, Government and people of Vietnam to continue to achieve more achievements in the cause of building a prosperous and civilized socialist Vietnam.
