"For me, the army is a big school where I will acquire a lot of new military knowledge and practice the skills of a revolutionary soldier." That was the passionate statement of new recruit/camp inmate Nguyen Van Hai Dang, representing 194 young men who were recruited for military service in early 2024 on the military enlistment day.
The young party member in a family with three generations of soldiers added: "Our generation of young people lives in a peaceful environment but still has many potential risks of instability. The country really needs young people like us today to contribute to protecting the country, protecting the achievements of our ancestors...".

The Fatherland calls, young people are ready is the theme of the military service camp organized by the District 1 Military Service Council on February 26 at the District 1 Sports Center, Ho Chi Minh City.
Early in the morning of the same day, the inmates/recruits offered flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park.
After helping an unknown comrade adjust his uniform, inmate Dinh Quoc Trung (Ben Nghe ward) said: "From now on, I have several new friends, new comrades. We study together and bond in a more disciplined environment."

According to the organizers, the entire camp has about 590 people including: youth union members, militia, relatives of new recruits and new recruits. Of the 194 new recruits this time, 169 young people were recruited for military service and 25 young people were recruited for police service.

On the morning of February 27, new recruits from District 1 will be assigned to units such as: BB31 Regiment - Division 309 (Army Corps 4), Naval Region 4 Training Center, Gia Dinh Regiment (City Command), Armored Brigade 26 (Military Region 7), and People's Public Security.
