On September 29, at the conference to review state management of non-public educational institutions in the 2022-2023 school year and deploy tasks for the 2023-2024 school year organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu requested that non-public educational institutions separate business activities and school activities.
From the 2023-2024 school year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will strengthen the management of non-public educational institutions, strictly handle violations of the law in organizing activities, and have a mechanism to quickly monitor information reported by parents.
According to a report from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the city currently has 90 private schools with domestic investment capital and 48 kindergartens and general schools with foreign investment capital in operation.
In addition, the city has 760 foreign language and information technology centers; 112 foreign-invested educational institutions; 122 units participating in organizing life skills education and extracurricular educational activities; 13 centers supporting and developing inclusive education; 584 organizations providing study abroad consulting services and 24 representative offices participating in educational activities.
* The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent a document to the Departments of Education and Training regarding the review and reporting of the situation of extracurricular educational activities at preschools, general education, and continuing education institutions.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that, implementing the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on extracurricular educational activities and the policy of socializing education, localities have organized many activities such as: life skills education; linking foreign language teaching, enhanced computer teaching; organizing experiential activities outside of school... according to learners' needs.
These results have contributed to consolidating and improving knowledge, skills and comprehensive personality education for learners. However, the management of extracurricular educational activities still has limitations, leading to concerns, worries and negative public opinion.
