On February 29, the website of the 20th Silent Manga Audition announced the winning artists.
Among them, the work On the edge, which tells a humorous and tragic story about the fate of an adopted stray cat by author Thuy Linh (pen name Syoera), won second prize.
Silent Manga Audition is the world's largest wordless manga writing competition. Prize-winning works must meet the following criteria:
- Tell a complete story without using speech bubbles;
- Describe the characters' facial expressions and actions with soul and move the readers.

The theme of the 20th Silent Manga Audition is memorable smile, gathering 909 works from 84 countries.
Thuy Linh's work was praised by Nobuhiko Horie (editor of the legendary comic series Bac Dau Than Quyen ) as a work with charming humor, surprising readers.
Readers can read On the edge and 36 other award-winning works for free on the Silent Manga Audition website.
In addition to the cash prize of up to 300,000 yen (nearly 50 million VND) and many art tools from sponsors, the winning author will also participate in a master class with leading artists and experts in the field of comics in Japan.
The winning work will also be published in the Zenon comic magazine and the Mangahot comic reading app.

Author Thuy Linh is known as a member of the comic book author duo Linh Thach - famous for the historical novel Van Nhan Ky - Noan about King Gia Long, published by Thanh Nien Publishing House.
In addition to Thuy Linh's second prize, the Vietnamese comic artist community also has two representatives winning consolation prizes: Lamv with the work Familiar and Boredgaylord with the work Our beginning - Our farewell .
