After a few light rains, cracks and subsidence, one to two meters deep, appeared in approximately 9 hectares of farmland belonging to local residents in Dak R'lap district.
The subsidence area mainly consists of farmland belonging to residents of Hamlet 4, Nhan Co Commune. The ground is cracked deeply and widely, causing many durian trees to fall or tilt. A 40 m2 iron house and a 100 m2 brick house were severely damaged.

Ms. Vi Thi Hau, residing in Hamlet 4, stated that small, short cracks appeared about 10 days ago. Over the past 3 days, the subsidence has worsened significantly, with some sections sinking 1-2 meters deep and 50 centimeters wide.
Mr. Le Dinh Khanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhan Co commune, said that the locality has not yet compiled statistics on the damage caused by the subsidence. To ensure safety, the authorities have requested households living in the subsidence area to relocate to new residences.

Previously, heavy rains in July caused subsidence on National Highway 14 (the section passing through Gia Nghia City), Tuy Duc District, and Dak Glong District. Geological experts explained that the cracking and subsidence were caused by prolonged heavy rains, which made the soil heavier and reduced its strength.
