On the afternoon of May 11, Bridge No. 4 in the Cau Quan Stream Flood Control Project (an important flood control project of Dong Nai Province) in Phuoc Tan Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province completed construction and opened to technical traffic. Thus, this bridge was completed before the rainy season according to the direction of local leaders to ensure safety for people traveling.
Because in reality, from the past until now, people in this area often suffer from flooding, making it very difficult to travel and unsafe when the rainy season comes. The flood prevention project, bridge No. 4, was implemented to help people travel more easily.
Bridge No. 4 over Cau Quan stream has been put into operation, people can cross safely during the rainy season.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Song, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Construction Technical Consulting Company Limited, said that since May 9, the construction unit has focused on mobilizing human resources and equipment to continuously construct and speed up the progress.
The final items are being focused on, including: installing railing systems on both sides of the bridge, completing the expansion of both ends of the bridge, painting and installing warning signs. By the afternoon of May 11, bridge No. 4 across Cau Quan stream had completed construction and was officially opened to traffic. This bridge is 24m long, 4m wide and has a clearance height of 3.5m.
Ms. Nguyen Thi An, a resident of Phuoc Tan ward, said that the bridge being put into use before the rainy season will help local people travel safely.
“We have been waiting for the bridge for many years. Before, people here had to use the old temporary bridge, which was very dangerous. During the rainy season, the water level rose high and it was very scary to use. Now that there is a new bridge, people can go to work and pick up their children more conveniently,” said Ms. An.
The project to renovate and dredge Cau Quan stream, Ba Lua stream, and Chua stream (Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai) is over 5.2km long, passing through Phuoc Tan, Long Binh Tan, and An Hoa wards, with a total investment of over 267 billion VND from the Dong Nai provincial budget.
This is a project implemented with the aim of preventing flooding and improving the environmental landscape of the eastern area of Bien Hoa city.
The project started construction at the end of 2022, with a construction period of 12 months, but due to problems with site clearance, up to this point only 70% of the site has been handed over, and the construction has only reached more than 30% due to the lack of continuity.
