The Political Department of Military Region 5 held a conference to review the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army. Major General Doan Van Nhat - Party Secretary, Deputy Director of the Political Department of Military Region 5 chaired the conference.

The central report and comments at the conference affirmed that in recent years, under the direct leadership and direction of the Party Committee Standing Committee, the Military Region Command, the Party Committee, and the Political Department commander have led and directed the implementation of the advisory function and the implementation of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army seriously, comprehensively, closely, and closely following the practical situation.

The conference also analyzed and clarified the limitations and shortcomings of some provisions of the Law in the current period. The conference emphasized that in order to help officers continue to have peace of mind, strive for their best in their duties and attract talented people to contribute to the army, in the coming time, it is necessary to amend some provisions of the Law on Officers to suit the practical situation.

In particular, it is necessary to specify the content of the law on ensuring salary regimes and housing regimes to suit the reality of social life, commensurate with the dedication and contributions of officers at all levels, especially in main units with sufficient troops, remote areas...

Besides, it is necessary to clearly define the responsibilities and roles of local Party committees and authorities in paying attention to ensuring the military rear policy regime.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Doan Van Nhat assigned relevant agencies to compile a written report to the superiors in accordance with regulations; prepare the content carefully, serving the Military Region to organize the conference to summarize the Law on Officers in the coming time to ensure strictness and quality.

On August 8, Division 302 of Military Region 7 held a conference to review the implementation of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA). Colonel Tran Chi Tam, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 7 attended and directed.

Over the past years, the Division Party Committee, Party committees, and commanders at all levels have done a good job of thoroughly disseminating and strictly implementing the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army in 1999 and its amendments and supplements in 2008 and 2014, as well as guiding documents at all levels; building a sufficient and correct basic officer team according to the organizational structure; ensuring the material and spiritual life and military rear for officers.

The conference discussed the contents of salary, housing and military rear policies; regulations on equivalent positions and titles; shortcomings in retirement age and age gap between ranks; difficulties in organization and implementation; research and propose contents and solutions to implement the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army in the coming time.

In his speech, Colonel Tran Chi Tam, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 7, requested that in the coming time, the Party Committee and Command of Division 302 continue to thoroughly grasp, disseminate, and seriously and effectively implement the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army and related documents.
