Delivering the opening speech, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc, Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, stated: The life and career of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang are always closely linked to the process of unifying the country, forming the first centralized feudal state in the nation's history, giving birth to the national name Dai Co Viet, strongly affirming the will for national revival, based on the spirit of independence, self-reliance, and self-strength.
The immense historical stature, the aspiration for independence, unity, and the building of a strong nation by Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang, associated with the national name Dai Co Viet and the role and position of the Hoa Lu capital, have become invaluable assets of our nation. In gratitude for his contributions, the people and the state institutions of various periods have erected temples in his honor at the site of the former palace. The annual Hoa Lu Festival, held to this day, remains a unique and distinctive cultural and spiritual activity of the people of Ninh Binh's ancient capital. It is a meeting point for people and tourists, both domestic and international, to express their reverence for the emperors and heroes who contributed to the founding and defense of the nation, and has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage since 2014.
The Party Committee, Government, and people of Ninh Binh province always cherish, preserve, and promote the beautiful values of the Hoa Lu festival, as if preserving the sacred soul of the thousand-year-old ancient capital, so that the great achievements of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang will live on forever in time and on the land of Vietnam.
Continuing its glorious historical tradition, Ninh Binh province has made remarkable and comprehensive progress in all fields over the years. The province's potential and strengths, especially in its historical and cultural heritage and natural landscapes, are being preserved and promoted to serve socio-economic development. The goal is to transform Ninh Binh into a leading tourism center in the country and the region, ensuring rapid and sustainable development, befitting its rich history as a former imperial capital.
As part of the program, Mr. Doan Minh Huan, Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, beat the drum to officially open the Hoa Lu Festival 2024.
At the event, delegates enjoyed an artistic program themed 'The Imperial Capital', comprising Chapter 1: Unifying the country, proclaiming the Emperor, and national revival, and Chapter 2: Ninh Binh in a new era, the flow of the land.
