On the morning of October 11, North Korean state media reported that the day before, the country celebrated the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea with a concert and banquet.

Unlike some celebrations that include large-scale military parades and displays of the latest weapons, the event marking the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea on October 10 this year took place at the park of the party's Central Cadre Training School.
KCNA news agency reported that the North Korean leader and his daughter attended the celebration "filled with joy among the participants celebrating the great day marking the 79th anniversary of his rule".

A photo released by KCNA shows Kim Jong Un walking with his maid, with a Russian Aurus limousine behind him. Reuters news agency said this could be one of the cars that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the North Korean leader.
Also according to KCNA, Russian Ambassador to North Korea Alexander Matsegora and other senior members of the embassy attended the celebration and "were personal guests" of President Kim Jong Un.
According to Reuters , the emphasis on information further highlights the increasingly enhanced relationship between the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kim Jong Un praised the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the world's oldest ruling party, for overcoming unprecedented difficulties to devote all its efforts to building a powerful nation and fighting against external threats.
In a lengthy anniversary message published in the Rodong Sinmun newspaper, the leader said North Korea is facing challenges both internally and externally.

He urged: "Workers must train themselves ideologically and cultivate party discipline in the context of fierce criticism and struggle. The success of training workers into genuine communist revolutionaries depends largely on the role of the party organization."
