According to Neowin , fans of the popular Starfield game are about to welcome the biggest update ever. After a series of stable updates before the holidays, Bethesda is preparing to bring Xbox and PC gamers a major update containing more than 100 bug fixes and improvements on January 17.
Revealed on the company's official social media channels, the upcoming update promises to remove all barriers to space exploration. Issues that have hindered the main storyline, such as the inability to dock the Legacy ship, data glitches that don't work, or mysterious temples that disappear during the Into the Unknown mission, will be completely resolved.

Additionally, Starfield 's setting promises to be even more stunning with graphical upgrades. The developer will improve stability and a host of graphical improvements, from wider screen support to improved textures, lighting, and shadows. Other fixes and improvements include the shape of the sun disc, planetary ring shadows, leveled objects reappear when returning to an Outpost, ship hatches marked as inaccessible, and another fix for asteroids following spacecraft.
The update will roll out to Steam users via the beta channel on January 17, with details of the changes coming on that day. Two weeks later, the update will roll out to all players on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.
Many other updates with features like mod support, FSR 3 and XeSS, new movement, … will also arrive in late 2024. Bethesda is also developing the game's first story expansion Shattered Space.
