On the afternoon of May 9, at the Sea Daisy Park (Cua Lo town), the "Good Chef - Honoring Cua Lo Cuisine" Contest 2024 took place, chaired by the Town Labor Federation in coordination with the People's Committee, Women's Union and Farmers' Association of the town.
The contest was organized with the reception and response of local service businesses, the coordination of agencies, departments, branches, organizations and unions from the town to the grassroots level and the support of sponsoring units.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Ms. Phung Thi Hanh - President of the Labor Federation of Cua Lo town said that the contest is an activity to celebrate the country's important events, towards the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024) and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Cua Lo town (August 29, 1994 - August 29, 2024).
With the theme “Good Chef - Honoring Cua Lo Cuisine”, this year's competition has the participation of 19 teams, who are union members, women's union members, farmers' union members, and workers working at hotels and restaurants in the town.
The contest aims to honor the chef profession, affirm the role of chefs in bringing the beauty of Cua Lo cuisine and Nghe An cuisine to domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to promoting tourism in the coastal city of Cua Lo.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for units to exchange, learn, and gain knowledge and experience, thereby helping teams demonstrate the motto "Confident, proactive, creative, positive" in customer service and business development.
Accordingly, the teams compete in 2 categories: cooking and presentation. In the cooking section, each team chooses a theme, creates and prepares 2 dishes to participate in the competition, of which at least 1 dish is Cua Lo seafood; The presentation section lasts a maximum of 5 minutes.
On a scale of 100, the judges evaluated the teams’ process, processing skills, aesthetic appearance, flavor quality, creativity and suitability for promoting Cua Lo cuisine. Many people from the town came to cheer for the competition.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 12 consolation prizes and 6 secondary prizes to the competing teams. The special dishes at the contest will be used to promote Cua Lo tourism in the coming time.
