Looking forward to the festival

For many years, the family of Ms. Tran Thi Ty (residential group 9, Nam Ha ward, Ha Tinh city) lived in a cramped, severely dilapidated house that frequently leaked and flooded during the rainy season. Given Ms. Ty's family's situation, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Ha Tinh city, along with the Nam Ha ward government, mobilized officials and residents to contribute resources to help the family build a "Great Solidarity" house with a total amount of 128.6 million VND. Of this amount, the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh city contributed 50 million VND; the People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Ha ward contributed 15 million VND; and the union of officials of residential group 9 contributed 63.6 million VND.

After nearly three months of construction, Mrs. Tran Thi Ty's "Great Solidarity" house has now been completed and handed over for use. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the concern and care of the government, departments, organizations, and the community in helping poor households stabilize their housing and strive to improve their lives.

The Solidarity House presented to the family of Ms. Tran Thi Ty is just one of hundreds of practical projects and activities to celebrate the 20th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ha Tinh City and the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels for the 2024-2029 term. Not only the people of Nam Ha ward but also all wards and communes in Ha Tinh City are actively and enthusiastically participating in emulation movements. People are participating in urban beautification, building flower beds, planting trees, drainage ditches, paving village and neighborhood roads... to build Thanh Sen into an increasingly green, clean, and beautiful city.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Danh, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh City, in preparation for the Fatherland Front's "festival," starting from November 28, 2023, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of the city organized a ceremony to launch a special emulation movement to celebrate the Fatherland Front Congress at all levels for the 2024-2029 term. The implementation period is from November 2023 to October 2024, with the main focus being on strengthening propaganda and mobilization efforts among all strata of the people to successfully implement the Resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels; continuing to effectively implement the campaigns "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods," and the movement "For the poor - no one left behind"; coordinating propaganda and mobilization efforts to ensure the people effectively carry out land clearance for investment projects in the area; and contributing resources to urban development and beautification. Continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Fatherland Front's social supervision and criticism work at all levels and its member organizations; actively participate in contributing ideas to build a clean and strong Party and government; coordinate the organization of cultural, artistic, and sports activities to create a vibrant atmosphere of emulation among all strata of the people; implement projects and tasks to practically celebrate the Congress of the Fatherland Front at all levels…

“Member organizations and the Fatherland Front Committees of wards and communes have signed emulation agreements, in which each organization, member, and ward/commune unit registers to implement at least 5 to 7 projects and tasks; each residential area will implement 3 to 5 projects and tasks to celebrate the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels,” said the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh City.

Connecting role

Following the launch, union members, association members, and people from all walks of life actively responded. Over the past six months, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations in Ha Tinh City, across wards, communes, and the city, have implemented a series of meaningful activities such as inaugurating and commencing the construction of solidarity housing for poor households; donating livelihood models to poor households; social welfare activities; building roads, drainage ditches, paving roads with hot asphalt; and constructing community cultural centers and "Houses of Wisdom"... In various localities, projects and tasks related to building civilized urban areas and new rural areas have been implemented simultaneously and accelerated, such as: paving roads with asphalt, building civilized urban roads; constructing model gardens and model residential areas; building roads and drainage ditches...

Cultural and artistic activities, football and volleyball matches, boat races, tug-of-war, and folk games were organized enthusiastically in the wards and communes, attracting a large number of people and creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere. Visual and engaging propaganda was also emphasized, including the use of banners, slogans, national flags, pennants, billboards, and posters along roads and in residential areas. News articles and promotional materials were also disseminated through mass media, social networks, and the local radio systems.

To date, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations at all levels in Ha Tinh City have completed more than 500 projects and tasks to celebrate the Congress, and 125 projects are continuing to be completed according to plan. In particular, many key projects have been completed, such as: 25 "Great Solidarity" houses, support for 3 poverty reduction livelihood models, and the construction of 2 community cultural centers – "houses of wisdom". The people actively participated in building more than 4.3km of concrete roads and rural roads; asphalt paving of more than 69km of roads; construction of nearly 5km of drainage ditches; upgrading and renovating 340m2 of sidewalks; and participating in the construction of 7 model residential areas, 1 model residential zone, and 6 model urban streets.

In particular, the people donated more than 1,200 square meters of land and 6,595 man-days of labor, planting more than 10,000 trees; giving 18,000 gifts to poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households; supporting 115 poor students who achieved high academic results; donating equipment for sports activities in residential areas; and providing street lighting in rural areas...

Acting as a bridge between the Party, the State, and the people, the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh City is increasingly asserting its central position and promoting the strength of national unity; thereby contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of Ha Tinh City on its integration journey.
