On the afternoon of January 6th, in response to VTC News, Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications, stated that the department had received information about the announcement by designers Vu Ngoc Tu and Dinh Truong Tung (of the Vu Ngoc and Son fashion brand) that they would be holding a fashion show at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House Metro station.
The designer announced plans to hold a fashion show at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House subway station.
According to the Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications, based on confirmation from the competent authority, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports did not receive any application and did not approve a performance permit for the fashion show by designers Vu Ngoc and Son at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House Metro station. Therefore, if the two designers provided the above information, their actions will be considered "Disseminating false information".
"The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications will coordinate with relevant functional units to handle the matter in accordance with the law. Specific information about the case will be provided later," Mr. Hoi said.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications also stated that, according to Clause 1, Article 38 of the Press Law, the two designers Vu Ngoc Tu and Dinh Truong Tung (Vu Ngoc and Son fashion brand) will be held legally responsible for the content of the information they provided regarding the organization of a fashion show at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House Metro station.
On the afternoon of January 5th, in response to a VTC News reporter, designer Vu Ngoc Tu, representing the fashion brand Vu Ngoc and Son, stated that the team had previously planned to hold the fashion show at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House subway station.
However, at the time of the press conference announcing the fashion show at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House subway station, the production team had not yet completed the application for a performance permit from the Department of Culture and Sports.
Designer Vu Ngoc Tu said: " We will learn from this experience and wait for the permit from the Department of Culture and Tourism before announcing the location for the show ."
After receiving feedback from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Tourism regarding their disapproval of the venue, the two designers quickly changed the location. The time and content of the show will remain the same to avoid affecting guests and stakeholders.
