Back in October, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with impressive performance and efficiency improvements over its predecessor, but it also came at a significantly higher price.
Recently, a leak revealed that the successor chipset Snapdragon 8 Elite will cost even more.
Accordingly, information from the Korean publication KiPost suggests that Qualcomm may increase the price of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in 2025. It is known that the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip was released at the end of October with a price increase of about 20-30% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
This leak may have some basis because according to Gizmochina, Qualcomm decided to increase the price of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip because the company is expected to improve SoC performance by 20% compared to the previous generation.
There's not much information shared about the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip yet. However, Qualcomm could also switch to TSMC for its N3P process - this is the latest 3nm process, bringing a 20% or more performance increase.
