Gifts and lucky money envelopes from school leaders and teachers made hundreds of students, whether they were returning home for Tet or staying, feel warm.


Recently, the Student Affairs Department of Ton Duc Thang University organized the program "Happy Tet away from home" for students who do not have the conditions to return home to celebrate Tet with their families.

According to Dr. Nghiem Quy Hao, in charge of the Department of Communications and Public Relations of Ton Duc Thang University, at the program, students and international students were directly met, visited, wished a happy new year by the leaders of this department and faculties, and given gifts worth 300,000 VND/person and a lucky money envelope worth 200,000 VND for each person.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Head of Admissions, Communications and Corporate Relations at the University of Finance and Marketing, also said that the school had just given 30 gifts to students in difficult circumstances. The gifts included 1 box of noodles, 5kg of rice, 1/2kg of dried chicken, cakes, milk and 200,000 VND in cash.

"In addition, the school organized the program "Far from home, happy Tet", giving 40 gifts to disadvantaged students, students living far from home in dormitories, each gift is expected to be worth 500,000 VND with a total cost of 20,000,000 VND. The scholarship for Union - Association Officers and disadvantaged students includes 50 gifts, each worth 5,000,000 VND, with a total cost of 250 million VND. In addition, the school also gave train and bus tickets to go home for Tet to 30 disadvantaged students", Master Phung informed.

Meanwhile, “Welcoming Tet away from home” is also an annual program of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology for students in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to return home for Tet.

Dr. Huynh Ngoc Anh, Vice Principal, said: "250 students received lucky money of 300,000 VND each and gifts worth 250,000 VND. 100 students were given tickets to go home for Tet worth from 500,0000-700,000 VND/student. The total cost was more than 150 million VND. In particular, this funding was supported by teachers and businesses. Hopefully, this will be a great source of spiritual encouragement for students to continue to strive in studying, practicing and achieving many achievements in the new year."

These lovely vases with peach blossom shapes will help make the Tet atmosphere in each student's home more meaningful.

At Hong Bang International University, Ms. Tran Thuy Tram Quyen, Vice Principal, said that giving Tet gifts to students is an annual activity to encourage their spirit after a year of hard study, and at the same time to show the close relationship between the school and the students' families.

"Specifically, the school has given more than 15,000 Tet gifts to all students. These gifts are ceramic flower vases for students to bring home to give to their parents and family, and to decorate with flowers to make Tet more brilliant," shared Master Tram Quyen.
