Bamboo Airways will submit to the general meeting of shareholders a proposal to dismiss Mr. Hideki Oshima from the Board of Directors at an extraordinary meeting on September 15.
This information was provided in the documents prepared for Bamboo Airways' extraordinary shareholders' meeting in the next two days. This is the airline's third extraordinary meeting this year to deal with issues, including senior personnel.
Mr. Hideki Oshima was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways in June. With nearly 40 years of experience in the aviation industry, he was Deputy General Director of Japan Airlines, as well as a leader at Narita and Haneda airports (Japan).
However, only about half a month later, Mr. Oshima resigned from this position. After that, the former boss of Japan Airlines became the permanent Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Le Thai Sam was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Bamboo Airways representative said that the Japanese leader will not participate in the Board of Directors but will still serve as an advisor to the airline.
In addition to Mr. Oshima, Bamboo Airways will also submit to shareholders a proposal to dismiss Mr. Doan Huu Doan and Mr. Tran Hoa Binh from the Board of Directors. The airline's Board of Directors only proposes to elect one additional member and will announce the list of candidates at the meeting on September 15.
Mr. Binh - who has many relationships with Japanese businesses - also joined the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways at the same time as Mr. Oshima in June. Mr. Doan Huu Doan - who is related to Him Lam Group - started to lead FLC, then Bamboo Airways since the middle of last year.
At the Board of Supervisors, Bamboo Airways will also propose to dismiss 3 members including Ms. Nguyen Thi Huu, Nguyen Bich Ngoc and Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa. The company proposes to add 3 members to replace them.
Bamboo Airways currently has three legal representatives, including the Chairman of the Board of Directors, a member of the Board of Directors, and the General Director. However, the company will submit to shareholders for approval to reduce the number to only one legal representative, the General Director.
