Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank - HoSE: SSB) has just announced the Board of Directors' Resolution approving the issuance of bonds to the international market.
Accordingly, the Board of Directors of SeABank approved the private issuance of non-convertible bonds without warrants to the international market for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), including green bonds for ocean and sea protection and green bonds. Of which, 25 million USD for green bonds for ocean and sea protection and 50 million USD for green bonds.
IFC has been cooperating with SeABank since 2021. In early 2023, SeABank announced that IFC had invested 100 million USD in the bank with the aim of supporting home loans for low- and middle-income families.

This is the first time SeABank has issued green bonds to the international market. Previously, in 2019, the bank also planned to issue up to 400 million USD in international bonds, non-convertible, unsecured and unwarranted, with a face value of 1,000 USD or multiples of 1,000 USD or other face values determined in accordance with international bond market practices.
The expected offering price is approximately 100% of the face value. The maximum bond term is up to 5 years, decided by the General Director at the time of issuance. The bond interest rate is determined for each issuance as a fixed interest rate or a floating interest rate or a combination of both.
The expected issuance time is in 2019 or a specific time decided by the Board of Directors. The expected number of issuances will also depend on the market situation at each time.
The purpose of issuing international bonds of the bank is to strengthen financial capacity, diversify capital mobilization channels, and create a basis for the bank to build and comply with international financial and capital safety standards.
However, the bank later adjusted the issuance time to 2020 or at a specific time as prescribed by the Board of Directors .
