The Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) informed that the General Administration of Customs of China has announced that in mid-August, it will conduct on-site inspections of growing areas and fresh coconut packaging facilities that need to be exported to the Chinese market.
The Plant Protection Department requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of provinces and cities to complete records and documents, send technical staff to participate in guiding and supporting fresh coconut growing areas and packaging facilities to participate in online inspections as required by the General Administration of Customs of China.
China currently has a large demand for fresh coconuts, but the growing area in Hainan Island can only meet about 10%.
