According to Ms. Vy, the donation of the gold-plated Ri6 durian to Mr. Sau Ri's family will be made when other businesses are able to contribute money to participate in the auction at the Durian Festival (held in Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province).

The reason why the businesses decided to give the auctioned gold-plated Ri6 durian to Uncle Sau Ri's family (Binh Hoa Phuoc commune, Long Ho district, Vinh Long province; Uncle Sau Ri has passed away) is because they wanted to show their gratitude for his contribution in creating this unique durian variety.

Ms. Vy also said that she is holding the gold-plated Ri6 durian that was auctioned and is on a business trip in Hong Kong.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hau - representative of Uncle Sau Ri's family said that he has not yet received information that his family will be given a gold-plated Ri 6 durian.

Previously, on September 1, within the framework of the Durian Festival, the People's Committee of Krong Pak District (Dak Lak) organized an auction of 3 durians: ancient durian, Dona, Ri6 with a starting price of 60 - 70 million VND/fruit.

In addition to receiving the winning durian, the auction winner will also receive a gold-plated durian for display and souvenir. Of which, the gold-plated ancient durian is worth 60 million VND, the gold-plated Dona durian is worth 70 million VND, and the gold-plated Ri6 durian is worth 60 million VND.

The most dramatic auction was the third durian of the Ri6 variety, with a starting price of 60 million VND and was bid by Ms. Vy at 500 million VND.

Ms. Vy then called on several other businesses to contribute more money to auction the precious durian mentioned above. In the end, the final price at the auction of the Ri6 durian was more than 1.4 billion VND.

Speaking at the auction, Ms. Vy said that the purpose of the auction is to contribute to social security, so winning this auction is the joy and happiness of the business.

It is known that Ri6 durian is a famous durian variety in the Mekong Delta region. The creator and owner of the Ri6 durian variety is Mr. Sau Ri (real name Nguyen Minh Chau, born and raised in Hamlet 1, Binh Hoa Phuoc Commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province).

In the 1990s, Mr. Sau Ri used natural grafting techniques to create the unique Ri6 durian variety. Ri6 durian stands out with its yellow flesh, flat seeds, rich sweetness, moderate fat, no fiber and dry segments so it is not sticky when held.

Ri6 durian is an easy-to-grow and easy-to-care-for variety that delivers high yield and quality. Highly appreciated by the farming community and the market, Ri6 durian has won many awards in fruit competitions and fairs in the Mekong Delta region.
