The Tour Championship is the final tournament in the three-event FedEx Cup play-off series (FedEx St. Jude Championship, BMW Championship and Tour Championship).
This is the series of tournaments that conclude the golf season on the PGA Tour (a prestigious tournament system for men, equivalent to the Masters tournaments in tennis).

Wins at the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup play-offs continued a successful year for Scottie Scheffler. Just a few weeks ago, the world number one golfer won a gold medal (HCV) at the 2024 Paris Olympics, in the men's singles event in golf.
Also with the Tour Championship title, Scottie Scheffler won a prize of up to 25 million USD (about 622 billion VND). This is one of the single tournaments with the highest annual prize money in the world professional golf system.
More importantly, Scottie Scheffler takes a major step towards competing with compatriot Xander Schauffele for the title of golfer of the year 2024, which will be announced in the early days of 2025.
Xander Schauffele won two major titles (equivalent to the Grand Slam titles in tennis) right before the 2024 Paris Olympics, both of which were the first major titles of his career.
The golfer climbed from outside the top 10 to world No. 3. Xander Schauffele was also the last Olympic gold medalist, until Scottie Scheffler won in Paris a few weeks ago.
As for Scottie Scheffler, up to this point in 2024, he has won a major title (Masters Tournament), an Olympic gold medal and the FedEx Cup play-off championship.
