Regarding this issue, the leader of Ba Vi National Park said that due to the impact of storm No. 3 (Storm Yagi), from September 6 to September 10, 2024, strong winds and continuous heavy rain occurred in the Park.
In particular, on the night of September 7, 2024, the internal traffic route of the Garden from the 400m level to the 1,100m level was eroded and seriously damaged. The medium voltage power line supplying electricity to the Garden had some broken poles, the roof of the information center at the 400m level was blown away, many forest trees were broken...
Immediately after the storm, the unit inspected, reviewed and issued a report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Forestry Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), and the Ba Vi District Disaster Prevention and Control Steering Committee.
In addition, a document was issued requesting the Transport Engineering Design Corporation (TEDI) to inspect landslides to advise Ba Vi National Park on solutions.
Along the route from elevation 400m to elevation 1,100m, there were 3 negative slope landslides and some positive slope landslides, specifically at Km0+460 to Km0+560 as shown in the images appearing on social networking sites.
"The road is still being repaired and fixed, and is absolutely forbidden for people to pass through. Regarding traffic on the road, only those with official business are allowed to pass through," said the leader of Ba Vi National Park.
The leader of Ba Vi National Park added that after the storm, Ba Vi National Park urgently overcame the consequences, cut down fallen trees on the road, cleared landslides, placed warning signs and barriers, sent forest rangers to provide traffic safety instructions, opened the gates in parts to serve visitors to work, visit and carry out the tasks of the park.
Regarding traffic safety, currently, people and vehicles (motorbikes, cars with less than 16 seats) can travel from elevations of 400m, 600m, 700m, 1,000m (parking lot 2), however, attention must be paid to observing and complying with information on signs to ensure traffic safety.
The road from level 1,000m to level 1,100m (Thuong Temple) is closed to vehicles, and pedestrians are strictly prohibited, except in cases of absolute necessity.
