The locality arranged two ferries to transport motorbikes, and built temporary roads and bridges for people to travel. However, in recent days, high tides have caused landslides, damaging the temporary road. The commune had to hire machinery to fill the land to fix it, but it was only a temporary solution.
Mr. Doan Chi Linh, Chairman of Tan Tien Commune People's Committee, said that the damaged road is the district's lifeline, carrying thousands of households from other communes every day to go to the market, transport goods, go to school...
Due to the damaged road, people have to take the ferry for 7,000-15,000 VND each way. Many families spend 60,000-100,000 VND each day, having to wait more than 30 minutes during peak times.

Ca Mau Province has declared a natural disaster emergency for the damage to the above-mentioned road. Dam Doi District has come up with a plan to repair the damaged road at a cost of about 4 billion VND. While waiting for the upgrade, the government continues to reinforce the temporary road so that people can travel by motorbike.
Due to its low terrain and many rivers and canals, Ca Mau is one of the localities with the most landslides in the country. Since the beginning of the rainy season, the whole province has had more than 200 riverbank landslides, with over 140 in Dam Doi district alone.
In October, the Prime Minister decided to add 4,000 billion VND to the Mekong Delta localities to prevent riverbank and coastal erosion. Ca Mau, Kien Giang, and Vinh Long received the most capital, 500 billion VND each.
