(CLO) The Mong Panpipe Festival and the To Day Flower Festival with many unique and attractive activities are expected to be held in Mu Cang Chai district (Yen Bai) on the occasion of the New Year 2025.


The People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai district (Yen Bai province) has just issued a plan to organize the Mong Panpipe Festival, the To Day Flower Festival and other Spring welcoming activities in 2025 with many exciting activities.

Specifically, the Mong Panpipe Festival, the To Day Flower Festival and activities to welcome the New Year 2025 of Mu Cang Chai district will be held from December 27, 2024 to January 2, 2025 with many attractive activities.

The event not only widely propagates the intangible cultural values ​​of the Mong people's panpipe performance art; the art of using beeswax to create patterns on fabric in Mu Cang Chai district, Tram Tau district, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province and intangible cultural values ​​associated with the lives of the Mong people, but also introduces, honors, and promotes the potential and strengths of tourism development, raising awareness of preserving and promoting cultural values ​​in the area, associated with tourism development, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.

In addition, the organization of the festival is associated with activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome Spring 2025, creating a sustainable tourism development link between localities in the province and the Northwest region, forming a tourism product supply chain.

At the same time, promote propaganda, preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Mong ethnic group in the area; create momentum and motivation to implement the project to build Mu Cang Chai into a tourist district, a destination of "Identity, Safety, Friendly", through many activities such as street performances such as paragliding, rice cake pounding competition, Mong people's top spinning competition, folk games, folk songs and dances, introducing typical products of Mu Cang Chai district and other localities.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be many activities recreating the cultural space of the Mong ethnic group; exchanges, performances of intangible cultural heritage of the Mong ethnic group, a Khen dance competition, activities such as the art photo exhibition "The beauty of To Day flowers"; experience "Cloud hunting journey - Discovering To Day flowers".

In particular, the highlight of the Mong Panpipe Festival and the 3rd To Day Flower Festival, the biggest cultural event in 2024, is the opening art program at 7:30 p.m. on December 27 at the central courtyard of Mu Cang Chai district next to the poetic Nam Kim stream.

It is known that To Day flowers usually bloom at the end of the solar year, about 1 month before peach blossoms and last until the end of Lunar New Year. Initially, they are just small spots on the tree, but after only a week of blooming, To Day will cover the mountains and forests in bright pink. For the Mong people in the mountainous areas of Mu Cang Chai or Tram Tau, To Day flowers are associated with Spring here.

People and tourists will be immersed in the cultural flow imbued with the cultural identity of the Mong ethnic group in Yen Bai and freely experience, explore and admire the beauty of To Day flowers, a unique flower of the Northwest mountains and forests.
