Implementing the National Target Programs for ethnic minority and mountainous areas from 2019 to present, the province has focused on strongly directing the transformation of production structure, crop and livestock structure, encouraging and helping people to change farming practices from small-scale, traditional to developing commercial agricultural production.
In the 2021-2023 period, agricultural, forestry and fishery production grew by an average of 3.67%; crop area and productivity were basically stable, with rice area of 58.4 thousand hectares and industrial crops and perennial fruit trees of 29.4 thousand hectares.
Thanks to the support and development incentive policies, many livestock and crop models in Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district have invested in raising chickens, rabbits, and growing grapefruit, bringing stable income to their families.
Policies to support and encourage agricultural development are focused. The province has 445 concentrated growing areas with an area of 19.6 thousand hectares; a number of chain linkage models have been formed (tea, grapefruit, large timber trees, medicinal plants, chickens, pigs) in rural areas of ethnic minorities; the average product value per hectare of cultivated land reached 125.5 million VND. Livestock and aquaculture have developed stably, forming concentrated farming models (pigs, chickens, cows..., tea, grapefruit, bananas, vegetables). Large timber forest plantations reached 14.5 thousand hectares, forming 40 large timber production areas with an area of 4.4 thousand hectares.
Through the programs, it has contributed to the effective implementation of the Party and State's policies towards ethnic minority areas in the province.
