The 245th anniversary of the birth (December 19, 1778 - December 19, 2023) and the 165th anniversary of the death (November 14, 1858 - November 14, 2023 - lunar calendar) of the famous person Nguyen Cong Tru is a series of activities including: Writing contest "Learning about the life and career of the famous person Nguyen Cong Tru" in schools, commemoration ceremony and art performance program of various types of heritage, Nghi Xuan Half Marathon 2023 and death anniversary.
In particular, in addition to the writing contest launched from September 20 to November 20, 2023, the celebration will take place on the evening of December 9, 2023 with an art program performing intangible cultural heritages such as: ca tru, folk songs, giam, chau van singing; the 2023 Nghi Xuan Half Marathon will take place on the morning of December 10, 2023.
Both events will be held at Nguyen Du Square (Tien Dien town). In addition, the death anniversary ceremony and award ceremony for the writing contest "Learning about the life and career of the famous person Nguyen Cong Tru" will take place on December 26, 2023 (ie November 14 of the lunar calendar).

As the unit responsible for staging most of the art program content at the celebration, up to now, Ha Tinh Traditional Art Theater has developed the script, practiced the performances, and is ready to perform.
Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Cam - Director of Ha Tinh Traditional Arts Theater said: "After developing the script and getting approval from Nghi Xuan district, we proceeded to stage and organize rehearsals. Up to now, the performances and repertoires have been mastered by the theater's artists and actors, ready for the rehearsal and performance on the evening of December 9."
Singer Dang Thuat will perform at the 245th anniversary of the birth of famous person Nguyen Cong Tru.
It is known that in the script of the art program at the ceremony, Ha Tinh Traditional Arts Theater will undertake 7/10 performances including: 4 singing performances, performances (Singing about Uy Vien Tuong Cong, Night of farewell to Vai Ward, Tragedy of a life, Famous mountains and rivers) and the songs: Love of the countryside (musician An Thuyen), Like a pine tree standing in the middle of the sky (musician Le Tam), Manly spirit (musician Le Ham). The program is directed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Cam; script and directed by Meritorious Artist An Ninh; music by Quoc Dung; and performances by artists and actors from the provincial Traditional Arts Theater.
In addition, the art program at the ceremony also included 3 performances created by the Nghi Xuan District Cultural - Communication Center, including: the opening performance of Uy Vien's son, the Immortal Personality Ca Tru performance and the Uy Vien Tuong Cong Chau Van singing performance. The performances were performed by singers Dang Thuat, Quang Luyen and Nghi Xuan Ca Tru artists...

One of the exciting activities that has received the attention of many people in Nghi Xuan district, as well as athletes inside and outside the province, is the Nghi Xuan Half Marathon 2023, which opened on the night of December 9 and took place on the morning of December 10.
According to the Organizing Committee, up to now, the tournament has attracted nearly 1,400 athletes from inside and outside the province to register to participate. Among them are many professional athletes who have achieved high results in domestic, regional and international athletics competitions. Notably, this race also has the participation of many foreign athletes from 5 countries.
For the race to be successful, Nghi Xuan district has also prepared well the conditions such as: running track, logistics, security and order... In particular, the district organized training for 120 youth union members and volunteers to serve the athletes; arranged police forces to ensure safety at traffic checkpoints on the race route, creating the best conditions for the athletes to complete their competition journey well...
Artists of the Nguyen Cong Tru and Co Dam Ca Tru Club will participate in the performance at the upcoming program commemorating Uy Vien Tuong Cong.
