The Yen Tu Spring Festival 2025 will take place on January 10, At Ty year (February 7, 2025) at Truc Lam Yen Tu Cultural Center, Thuong Yen Cong commune, Uong Bi city. This is the biggest spring festival in Quang Ninh, lasting throughout the first 3 months of the year and becoming a meeting place to welcome domestic and foreign tourists. Up to this point, all preparations for the festival have been basically completed, ready to welcome people and tourists to worship and enjoy the spring.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's opening ceremony will be held with special activities and on a larger scale, recreating an ancient spring festival with strong traditional features. The ceremony will include palanquin processions, offerings and spiritual rituals such as: drumming, bell ringing, New Year's blessing ceremony, national peace and security ceremony, Yen Tu sacred seal ceremony... In particular, the palanquin procession ceremony in 2025 will be the largest ever, with the participation of 11 palanquin teams from localities in Uong Bi city and the Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province, promising to bring a solemn spring festival imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity.
Venerable Thich Khai Tu, Standing Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh Province, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Uong Bi City, said: This year, the Yen Tu spring festival will organize many activities, including the ceremony and the festival. Regarding the Sangha, we have closely coordinated with relevant units to develop a comprehensive plan for visual propaganda, festive decoration at pagodas in the Yen Tu relic system; decorate the Buddha altar and the processions at the opening ceremony; preside over the implementation of the national peace and prosperity prayer ceremony, the New Year's blessings, the Yen Tu sacred seal ceremony; guide the Buddhist congregations in the opening day of the festival; decorate and arrange offerings on 11 palanquins... Up to this point, all preparations have been basically completed, ready to welcome people and tourists to worship.
After the ceremony, the festival will take place in a joyful and bustling spring atmosphere, including many interesting activities such as: Lantern Festival to pray for national peace and prosperity; art performances, dragon dance, lion dance; traditional martial arts; horse riding experience; folk games: human chess, throwing con, archery...; traditional art performances in the Yen Tu Village area. At the same time, visitors can also visit the exhibition of paintings and photos promoting the value and majestic beauty of Yen Tu, explore the culinary culture of the Dao Thanh Y ethnic group at the foot of Yen Tu mountain and enjoy special art performances, including the participation of many famous singers.
Preparations for welcoming delegates, people, and tourists to worship and enjoy spring have also been prepared by the units, ensuring thoughtfulness, civility, and politeness. Mr. Huynh Hong Loi, Deputy General Manager of Legacy Yen Tu, said: To prepare well for the festival organization, the unit has carried out decoration, celebration, training in reception, logistics, and cleaning the campus to be ready to welcome visitors. Along with that, building experience programs, service chains with many rich and diverse activities with specific characteristics such as: health care experience, sightseeing, participating in cultural festivals; arranging staff to guide visitors about cultural experiences, festivals; activities to experience recycling waste from nature...
In particular, to ensure the success of the festival, the People's Committee of Uong Bi City has directed the relevant agencies to deploy measures to widely propagate and promote the festival to the public and tourists; hang festival flags and banners along the roads leading to the Yen Tu relic site and on the main roads of the city. The city also directed the inspection and repair of the entire railing system on the walking pilgrimage route from Hoa Yen Pagoda to Van Tieu Pagoda and An Ky Sinh, the section from Mot Mai Pagoda to Bao Sai to An Ky Sinh and from An Ky Sinh to Dong Pagoda; repair and maintain the stone steps that are peeled off and popped on the entire walking pilgrimage route from Giai Oan Pagoda to Dong Pagoda (especially the area up to and around Dong Pagoda); repair the railings on the road up and down Bao Sai Pagoda (due to falling rocks collapsing the railing system)... The city also coordinated with relevant units to deploy measures to ensure security, order, traffic safety, and fire prevention. Plans for transporting tourists from National Highway 18A to Yen Tu and pilgrimage routes have also been built and implemented reasonably and effectively to avoid congestion. Along with that, market management and food safety at service establishments in the relic site have also been strengthened to protect the health of tourists and prepare for a safe and successful Yen Tu Spring Festival 2025.
