Saigon Co.op promotes 15,000 Vietnamese products on online platform

On August 31, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) officially launched the biggest Vietnamese goods promotion month of the year, offering consumers the opportunity to shop with many attractive incentives.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op, said that the program "35 years of pride in Vietnamese goods" opened on the first day of the September 2 holiday, creating favorable conditions for consumers to shop and enjoy the holiday.

To implement the “Pride in Vietnamese Products” month this year, Saigon Co.op has invested a large budget to bring Vietnamese products to the online space including the Co.opOnline website and the Saigon Co.op application on mobile devices, organizing “trend-catching” minigames to receive valuable gifts.

Accordingly, more than 15,000 products from five key industries, including fresh food, processed food, cosmetics, household appliances and clothing, will be widely promoted on online shopping channels such as the Co.op Online website and the Saigon Co.op application.

This promotion program with the theme “35 years – Proud of Vietnamese products” lasts until September 18, with discounts of up to 50% on essential consumer goods, along with many attractive gifts and E-voucher codes worth up to 100,000 VND.

This is an effort by Saigon Co.op to reach Gen Y and Gen Z customers – potential consumers in the era of technology 4.0. After three days of implementation, Saigon Co.op recorded a 30% increase in system-wide sales compared to the same period last year.

In addition, the promotion program also applies at more than 800 retail points nationwide of Saigon Co.op, including supermarket systems Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Cheers, Finelife, Sense City, and SenseMarket.

Saigon Co.op representative predicted that during the National Day holiday on September 2, sales will double compared to normal days, with high demand for fresh food products and soft drinks. To meet this demand, the system has increased its inventory to serve consumer demand during the festival.

In particular, the program "Da Lat Fruit and Vegetable Festival" will take place until September 4, with discounts from 15% to 30% on specialty fruits and vegetables such as chayote, cabbage, celery, lolo lettuce, heart-shaped cabbage, tomatoes, red bell peppers, and many other clean vegetables.

Saigon Co.op has coordinated with suppliers in Da Lat and Lam Dong province to ensure quality goods for millions of families across the country.

At Co.opmart Rach Mieu supermarket (Phu Nhuan District), the number of customers coming to shop this morning increased by more than 10% compared to a normal day.

Retailers expect this year's Vietnamese goods promotion program to bring convenient, economical and quality shopping experiences to consumers nationwide, effectively stimulating consumption.
