How far have the violations of the Muong Thanh project in Da Nang been resolved?

(NLDO) - Da Nang leaders proposed to speed up progress and completely resolve violations at the Muong Thanh project in 2025.


Mr. Ta Tu Binh - Vice Chairman of Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee, Da Nang City - said that recently, the district has worked with Dien Bien Construction Private Enterprise No. 1 on dismantling the remaining violations at the Muong Thanh Hotel Complex project and Son Tra luxury apartments, My An ward.

According to Mr. Binh, the violations in this project have lasted for many years and are complex in nature. The district has sought contractors to carry out the demolition, but no unit has participated.

Violations at the Muong Thanh Hotel Complex and Son Tra Luxury Apartment project from 2019 to present have not been completely resolved.

Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that the city has given clear instructions on handling violations at the Muong Thanh project. In case the district encounters difficulties in handling the matter, it is necessary to clarify so that the city can find a solution.

Mr. Cuong requested Ngu Hanh Son district to speed up the progress and urgently complete the dismantling of the remaining violations.

"It must be resolved and put an end to by 2025, to move smoothly into a new cycle, a new term, a new phase. This situation cannot be allowed to drag on from year to year. The violations are clear, and everyone's responsibility is clear. Therefore, we need to be more determined in this matter," Mr. Cuong emphasized.

Previously, in August 2024, the Department of Construction of Da Nang City said that the investor had bought back and complied with the self-remediation and demolition of the partition walls of a total of 86/86 violating apartments on floors 2, 3, 5 and 35.

In addition, the investor requested competent authorities to allow the existence of 78 apartments on the 4th, 41st and 42nd floors. At the same time, it committed to strictly paying back the amount of interest and other expenses incurred due to the increase in the number of apartments according to State regulations.

However, the Department of Construction found that this proposed plan did not comply with regulations and sent an official dispatch requesting the investor to review and report the above contents.

The Muong Thanh hotel complex and Son Tra luxury apartment project, invested by Dien Bien Construction Company No. 1, was licensed by the Da Nang Department of Construction in 2016 with a scale of 42 floors and 2 basements.

Of which, floors 2 to 5 were licensed to be used as parking lots, kindergartens, swimming pools, etc. However, the investor arbitrarily changed the function and "magically" transformed the 4 upper floors into 104 apartments.

In early December 2019, the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son district announced a plan to enforce violations at the project.
