Open-loop and green transportation
Currently, there are two trends in public transport fee collection in the world: closed-loop system and open-loop system. Of which, closed-loop has been implemented for a long time in our country such as buying tickets with cash, or using designated transport cards to take buses, electric bicycles, metro...
Since Covid-19, countries around the world have gradually switched to collecting transportation fees using Open-loop technology, most recently Thailand with the metro system in the capital Bangkok. The automatic ticket payment system helps passengers not need to use cash to buy tickets or buy many traditional tickets or paper tickets. Passengers can use what is available such as credit cards, payment cards, favorite prepaid cards, or convenient Apple Pay, Samsung Pay with just "one touch", or e-wallets to scan QR to pay for the trip.
This method can replace manual payment and ticketing systems, contributing to creating a transportation network where all transactions operate seamlessly, quickly and securely, providing a modern payment experience for passengers, promoting green mobility and sustainable environmental protection, especially suitable for young people using smartphones.
