Leaders of Thua Thien Hue province and philanthropists present scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties.
On the evening of September 29 (August 15 of the lunar calendar), at the Hue Royal Palace, the Center for Social Work and the Children's Support Fund of Thua Thien Hue province in collaboration with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the Thua Thien Hue Women's Intellectuals Association, and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's Social Charity Board organized the program "Royal Palace Full Moon Night - Enjoying Mid-Autumn Festival with children in special and difficult circumstances in 2023".
Attending the event were 1,000 disadvantaged children from 15 social assistance units, child protection centers and 14 primary and secondary schools in Thua Thien Hue province.
At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded scholarships to 150 outstanding students with outstanding achievements, each worth 1 million VND; and also presented Mid-Autumn gifts to all children in special and difficult circumstances who attended.
Coming to the program "Royal Palace Full Moon Night - Mid-Autumn Festival", children can watch many special art performances performed by artists from the Hue Monuments Conservation Center such as: "Lan Mau Xuat Lan Nhi" dance, "Ngu Ho Hi Cau and Long Ho Hoi", "Excerpt from Na Tra Dai Noi Thuy Cung", phoenix dance, breaking the feast, carrying lanterns and receiving Mid-Autumn gifts from sponsors.
Besides poor children and children in difficult circumstances, "Royal Palace Full Moon Night - Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" is held at the same time as Hue Lantern Festival 2023, so many families in Hue City send their children to attend.
Speaking at the program, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh praised the students for overcoming many difficulties, always being self-conscious in studying, being good, knowing how to help their families, and doing many good deeds. Mr. Binh hopes that agencies, departments, branches, localities, organizations, businesses and philanthropists will continue to pay attention and support so that children, especially those in difficult circumstances, can participate, have fun, study, create many useful playgrounds, help them have the awareness to strive, practice and improve to become good children, good students, good children of Uncle Ho, worthy of being the future owners of the country.
On this occasion, localities in Thua Thien Hue province also simultaneously organized Mid-Autumn Festival activities, visited and gave gifts to children in difficult circumstances, ensuring that all children enjoy a joyful and warm Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere.
