Bustling traditional Tet atmosphere inside Hue Citadel

With only a few days left until the Lunar New Year 2024, thousands of people and tourists have come together to experience the traditional Tet atmosphere right inside Hue Citadel, creating a joyful and cozy atmosphere.

On the morning of February 2, thousands of people and tourists from home and abroad flocked to Hue Imperial City (Ngo Mon Square) to experience and shop at the Hue Tet Program in the year of Giap Thin 2024.

Accordingly, the Hue Tet Program within the framework of the Hue Tet Festival 2024 will continue to be organized to promote traditional cultural values, especially recreating, introducing and promoting the activities of Hue people celebrating the traditional national New Year.

At the same time, contribute to taking care of poor households, near-poor households, union members and members in difficult circumstances during the joyful, warm and happy Lunar New Year of Giap Thin.

The program is chaired by the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the City People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, agencies, departments, branches, unions, units and localities.

With the theme "Connecting love", the Hue Tet Program 2024 takes place over 5 days, from February 1 to 5 (December 22 - 26, Quy Mao year).

The program is taking place at Ngo Mon Square (the area adjacent to Quang Duc Gate), 23/8 Street and Le Huan Street, Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City.

With many meaningful activities such as: Traditional jam and cake making contest; wrapping and cooking Chung cake, Tet cake "Tet flavor"; Display space for fruit trays, traditional cake trays, Tet flower vases and many other interesting activities.

This year, there are a total of 37 teams participating in the Competition, 49 booths with more than 200 typical products and specialties of the localities.

Especially the products serve the shopping needs of people during the traditional Tet holiday of the nation with the participation of nearly 70 organizations, units, businesses and individuals in the area.

From early morning, many people and tourists came to experience the Hue Tet program. Many people were interested in the items sold at the booths.

In addition, locals and tourists can also enjoy and watch the teams competing in making cakes and jams for Tet.

“At the end of the year, my family and I went to Hue for a trip , and planned to return to Hanoi this afternoon. However, today, when visiting the Imperial City, we happened to come across such a vibrant program. It felt very cozy when so many people made cakes and jams together. Combined with the ancient space of Hue, it felt like the old Tet was coming back” - Ms. Tran Thanh Thuy, a tourist from Hanoi shared.

Meanwhile, the teams were busy around the fire, their hands quickly stirring the pot of jam continuously.

Coming from Thuy Bang unit (Hue city), Ms. Dao Thi Kim Ngoc said that this is the second year she and her unit have participated in the Hue Tet Program, making traditional jam together.

“In the atmosphere of the upcoming Tet Giap Thin 2024, the program helps us to recall the traditional Tet atmosphere of the past, both cozy and able to interact with many other units, especially fun and meaningful” - Ms. Ngoc said.
