On the afternoon of November 20, at the headquarters of the Central Economic Commission, Comrade Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member and Head of the Central Economic Commission, received Mr. Stefan-Radu Oprea, Minister of Economy, Enterprise and Tourism of Romania.
Welcoming Mr. Stefan-Radu Oprea to visit and work in Vietnam, comrade Tran Tuan Anh acknowledged that the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Romania in recent years has shown signs of improvement in many fields.
Comrade Tran Tuan Anh affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always attach importance to the traditional friendship between the two countries, and expressed gratitude to Romania for its great support in promoting the completion of negotiations and signing of the EVFTA and EVIPA in 2019 as well as supporting Vietnam in disease prevention.
Sharing about Vietnam's economic situation, the Head of the Central Economic Commission said that Vietnam is focusing on implementing 3 strategic breakthroughs. The consistent viewpoint is to take people as the center, the subject, the goal, the driving force, and the resource for development; not to sacrifice progress, social justice, social security, and the environment in exchange for mere economic growth.
Vietnam affirms its determination to build an independent, self-reliant economy and actively integrate deeply, practically and effectively into the international community. In recent times, Vietnam's economy has achieved many successes; politics and society are stable, and the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improving.
Emphasizing that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is still very large, comrade Tran Tuan Anh suggested that Minister Stefan-Radu Oprea pay attention to promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Romania in a number of directions such as: promoting bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation; green transformation, circular economy and adaptation to climate change; developing high technology, digital transformation and innovation along with a number of other areas such as labor, culture and tourism...
The Head of the Central Economic Commission hopes that the two countries will continue to actively exchange and promote cooperation on both Party and people-to-people channels; at the same time, concretize cooperation contents on the basis of effectiveness, practicality, and suitability to the needs and capabilities of both sides.
Mr. Stefan-Radu Oprea sincerely thanked Comrade Tran Tuan Anh for taking the time to receive him; highly appreciated the good development of the cooperative relationship between the two countries in recent times, especially economic and trade cooperation.
Minister Stefan-Radu Oprea highly appreciated Vietnam's policies, orientations and achievements in economic development; agreed with the proposals of Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh, affirming that Romania will make efforts to further promote cooperation in all aspects with Vietnam, especially in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchange to match the development momentum of the bilateral relationship.
